Tostitos Puts Its Three Ingredients on the Front of the Bag

Tostitos has redesigned its bags — and the headline change is honesty about what is inside. The new packaging leans on illustration instead of photography, with little corn kernels and cobs tucked into the graphics, and puts the simple ingredient list up front: corn, oil and salt, with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Crucially, nothing was reformulated. Tostitos was always made from whole corn ground into masa the traditional way — the brand just never said so out loud.

It is storytelling as the product upgrade. Instead of adding something new, Tostitos is dramatizing what was already true — the craft and the short ingredient list — because that is what shoppers now reward. The signal: in a clean-label era, brands are winning by making their existing simplicity visible, turning “how it is made” into the main selling point.

So…:

What is already simple and well-made about your product that you have never bothered to say out loud?
