Swatch and Audemars Piguet Team Up on an Affordable “Royal Pop”

Swatch and Audemars Piguet have confirmed a collaboration called “Royal Pop.” It arrived the way these things now do — cryptic full-page newspaper teasers, the internet guessing the partner within days — the same hype playbook Swatch ran with the MoonSwatch. The watch fuses Audemars Piguet’s most famous design, the octagonal Royal Oak from 1972, with Swatch’s playful 1986 “Pop” line, putting one of luxury watchmaking’s most recognisable silhouettes onto an accessible, mass-market piece.

It is the high-low collaboration as a repeatable strategy. A prestige house lends its iconic design; Swatch lends affordability, colour and reach — and both sides borrow each other’s audience. As WatchTime notes, the Royal Oak is legible even to someone who has never spent more than $300 on a watch, which is exactly the point.

So…:

What unexpected collaboration could make your offer relevant to a whole new audience?
