Pet Shell is a pet house built like a quiet room. Developed in Slovenia and now a finalist at the DesignEuropa Awards 2026, the pod is made of wood and hemp wool and has been lab-tested to cut noise by 13–16 decibels — making thunderstorms, fireworks and vacuum cleaners roughly half as loud for the dog inside. It blocks light like a den, doubles as a coffee table and starts around €1,700.
What is interesting is the problem it picks. Most owners simply live with a shaking, hiding dog on New Year’s Eve — pet anxiety is a huge, quietly tolerated issue rather than an articulated demand. The product treats an animal’s nervous system as seriously as human wellness brands treat ours, and turns a problem people had stopped questioning into a premium category.
