The Office Walker is an under-desk walking pad with a twist: it has no motor. Where most walking pads hum along on electronics, this one is fully mechanical — you simply walk, and the belt moves with you. Its makers lean into that simplicity, selling it as quiet enough for a home office, durable because there is little to break, and easy to store upright against a wall. It starts at €1,149, and more than 16,700 backers had signed up via its Kickstarter.
The pitch is deliberately un-gadgety: no screen, no app, no motor to fail — just a calm, well-made object that happens to keep you moving. As people tire of devices that buzz, update and wear out, a pared-back mechanical version of a “tech” product starts to look like the premium choice.
So…:
Where could a simpler, more durable version of your offer beat the feature-heavy one?
