Jesper Binzer on Temu: ‘It’s Exactly the Same’ as Normal and Søstrene Grene

In an interview in Euroman on 2 May 2026, Danish rock musician Jesper Binzer said what many think but few say out loud: ‘You can’t piss on Temu if you shop at Normal and Søstrene Grene. It’s exactly the same.’ His point: it’s hard to publicly shame Temu shoppers if you’re using nordic low-price chains tied to the same kind of global supply lines. In the same article — updated two days later — Søstrene Grene responded officially, rejecting the comparison and pointing to EU rules, their own product-safety practices, an in-house compliance team and documented tests of unsafe Temu toys.

This isn’t really a story about Temu. It’s an Overton Window moment. The line between what we accept and what we shame isn’t drawn by the supply chain — it’s drawn by what feels Danish, designed and familiar. When a public voice points at the inconsistency, and part of the industry feels the need to respond on the record, the line itself is moving. Friction points like this aren’t noise; they’re where a culture quietly tells you where it’s heading.

So…:
Where does your brand sit in relation to this line — and is that where you want to sit twelve months from now?
