Baby tech company Owlet and telehealth service provider Wheel have partnered to allow Wheel’s clinicians to prescribe Owlet’s medical wireless pulse oximetry sock for infants. Owlet’s BabySat, FDA-approved last year, monitors a baby’s heart rate and oxygen saturation levels, alerting caregivers if readings are outside the prescribed ranges.
Through this partnership, caregivers can obtain a prescription for BabySat directly via Wheel’s online portal or clinicians. After receiving the prescription, caregivers can order the sock at little to no cost through Wheel’s BabySat telehealth platform, which integrates with medical equipment suppliers who bill insurers on behalf of caregivers.
