GLØD is a Danish festival devoted entirely to the sauna. Held on Djursland by the folk high school Grobund, it promises steam, scent, music and “magic” — a lineup of saunas instead of bands, with tickets selling like a music event. The everyday ritual of sweating in a hot wooden room has been turned into a full day-out experience.
It is a neat example of how the festival format now wraps almost anything. Take a simple activity, add atmosphere, community and a ticket, and it becomes an event people travel for and post about. The format does the heavy lifting — the sauna is just the excuse to gather.
So…:
What ordinary part of your offer could you stage as an event people actually want a ticket to?
