From 15 September, travellers from 60 countries and territories — Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom among them — can stay in Thailand for 30 days without a visa. The limit has been 60. The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced the change on 1 September, a day after the Ministry of Interior published the new rules in the Royal Gazette.
Thailand widened the exemption to 60 days in 2024 to pull in long-stay visitors and people working from anywhere. Two years later it is closing again. Seychelles and Mauritius drop to 15 days, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia move to Visa on Arrival, and for most nationalities the 30-day exemption can be used at a land border only twice a year. Anyone who enters before 15 September keeps the stay they were granted.
