One in Ten easyJet Cabin Crew Is Now Over 50

Cabin crew has long been coded as a young person’s job. easyJet now says 12 per cent of its crew are over 50, and that the number has risen 127 per cent since 2022, the year the airline first set out to recruit older workers. Crew over 60 have almost quadrupled. Applications for several hundred roles for 2027 open in September.

The airline also published research among UK adults who changed career after 50: 80 per cent report greater overall happiness, 78 per cent a regained sense of control, 71 per cent more confidence, and 65 per cent wish they had done it sooner. Travel and tourism came out as the sector most of them would move into. The uniform stays the same. The age inside it does not.

So…:

Which of your roles are you still quietly hiring by age rather than by skill?
