Spain Launches €60 Unlimited Public Transport Pass from January 2026

Spain will introduce a €60 monthly public transport pass in January 2026, allowing unlimited travel on state-run trains and intercity buses. The government expects the pass to benefit up to two million people and reduce commuting costs by 60%. Those under 26 will pay just €30 thanks to a 50% youth discount. However, the pass excludes metro, tram, and city buses initially, as well as high-speed AVE trains. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez urged regional authorities to join the scheme. The move mirrors Germany’s €63 “Deutschlandticket” but is currently more limited. Existing travel discounts will also be extended into 2026.
