From January, Danish drivers can see live petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, thanks to a new agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Google. The goal is to strengthen competition and lower fuel costs. All fuel providers will be required to report their prices online. According to Minister Morten Bødskov, this transparency will allow consumers to make informed choices before heading to the pump.
Google supports the move, adding to existing services like EV charging and fuel-saving route suggestions. Authorities estimate yearly savings of up to DKK 2,000 per household with two cars.
