A Mashable reporter ran the entire NYC Marathon wearing seven fitness trackers to see how they perform in real race conditions. Devices from Apple, Garmin, Suunto, Fitbit, Whoop, Pixel and Oura were tested across 508 training miles and race day itself.
Top performers included the Garmin Forerunner 570 for advanced metrics, Apple Watch Ultra 3 for smart integration, and Whoop MG for recovery insights. Budget-friendly Suunto Run also impressed, while Fitbit Charge 6 fell short for serious runners. Testing these trackers under real strain revealed their true strengths — and weaknesses.
