Platja d’Aro, a Spanish resort town on the Costa Brava, has introduced fines for inappropriate behavior during bachelor and bachelorette parties. Offenders displaying sex dolls or wearing genital costumes in public face fines of up to $811 (€750). More severe anti-social behavior could incur fines up to $1,620 (€1,500). The new rules also ban going shirtless or in bikinis in urban areas away from the beach.
These measures, effective late June, aim to curb disturbances caused by the influx of 150,000 visitors each summer weekend. Additional police will enforce the rules.
