Facial recognition will be used by Northamptonshire Police at the British Grand Prix for the second year to prevent criminal activity. The event, expected to host about 480,000 people from 4-7 July, first saw this technology in 2023. Cameras will scan faces to match biometrics against a watch list.
Det Supt Richard Tompkins emphasized the technology’s role in maintaining safety and deterring criminals. Manual checks, including fingerprints, will ensure accuracy.
